I have to say, I was a little bit hesitant when I discovered that this spa was located in the middle of the city, but as they say, don't knock it till you've tried it .

As its name would suggest, this wonderful spa is just that- A retreat.

At Spa Urban, I experienced an environment that was warm ,welcoming, friendly and above all, professional. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a woman, whose presence immediately filled the room with a sense of calmness. She introduced herself as Emilin and lead me into a back room with the sounds of ambient music playing in the background.

The room, mostly neutral in shade with hints of colorful art, was dimly lit with candles and the table I rested on was covered with Egyptian cotton sheets, which were oh so comfortable!
 
During my hour therapeutic massage, Emilin helped me to relax by using peppermint aromatherapy, and really getting to know my body's tension points. She worked my lower back all the way up to my temples . I was so at ease it was hard to keep from falling asleep!

Once my time was up I was served hot lavender tea and was left to enjoy my peaceful state of being in my private room for as long as I wanted. I left feeling calm , at ease and rejuvenated.

Choose from a variety of services including -
Heaven and Earth Stone Massage - Heated river stones, strategically placed, deeply warm the body while the muscles are systematically massaged, melted and released. This treatment inspires unimaginable relaxation and reconnection to the body.

Triple Tea Cranberry Facial- A wonderfully aromatic anti-oxidant facial treatment using products infused with tea extracts and cranberry extract to counter the skin damaging effects of free-radicals that are abundant in urban and polluted environments, and are created by stress and sun exposure. A stimulating cranberry mask infuses skin with moisture and leaves it dewy, glowing and fresh.

Focused Tension Relief- A wonderful alternative to a full body massage, this treatment is ideally suited for people with chronic muscular neck and shoulder tension, where stress accumulates. We begin with a half hour focused massage to the entire back, neck and shoulders. A detoxification mud pack is then applied to the upper back, neck and shoulder area. As this softens and relaxes muscles, tired feet are gently massaged with Cooling Peppermint Foot cream.
