Phil's BBQ - The Best Barbeque In Town!

Phil's B.B.Q

There’s this sort of nostalgia that takes place every time I catch the whiff of mesquite from a sizzling grill. The popping, crisp, smoky cloud pluming into the air is enough to bring me right back to my childhood; gathering around the flaming meat pit, mouth watering, awaiting my first bite of heaven. With my dad on the grill telling his old military stories and my mom setting up ‘ the kids ‘ table; barbeque for us was more than just a meal, it symbolized family.

My first bite of Phil’s BBQ took me on that same time capsule voyage. We didn’t really mind the 45 minute wait outside. It was actually pretty amusing to see this much excitement on your way into dinner. The people in line were lively, the venue was packed and the kitchen was running at full tilt! I ordered the FULL RIB DINNER, which consisted of an entire rack of baby back pork ribs, a side of slaw and potato salad. I sampled the macaroni salad and onion rings as well. And if that weren’t gluttonous enough, I also ordered an extra 12 ounces of Phil’s special sauce to dip everything in! I grabbed a fountain drink and a beer from the bar and was finally ready to throw down! This was definitely an eating adventure! I got down and dirty, both hands and face right into my plate. There was a roll of paper towels on the table along with a tray of seasoning, which I didn’t take part in, such that I wouldn’t ruin the tart but sweet mesquite flavor of the rib sauce. The ribs were delicate, fall-off-the-bone pork, with some great color, an extremely soft crisp singe on the outside (just enough so you could taste the burned grill flavor) and moist, delicious meat that I would describe as melt in your mouth buttery hottness!

Hands down, the absolute best BBQ I’ve ever had in a restaurant! Our busser, Darryl had charisma, and even though the place was at capacity, different people came to check on us..all with cheery smiles. I mean, who couldn't be happy, we were havin' barbeque here! The sink station was a treat and the all you can drink fountains kept my thirst at bay. So take a date, a group of friends or grab your family and head down to Phil’s … and don’t worry about the line, it’s part of the adventure… and worth the wait every time!
