AN OPENER I STOLE FROM STYLE - BY: THE SNEAK
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The Smoothest "Under The Radar" Opener Ever Stolen Directly From Style's Live Pickup by The Sneak =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The student turned to Style and declared "I'm terrible at remembering names."
Style begins to teach us all an awesome little memory trick so we'll never forget a name again. He then paused, spun around, and completely in the moment says to the gorgeous girl behind him "Hey, real quick I'm going to borrow you for a second. We just need your name."
The next thing you know she isn't only a part of our group; she is watching and directly participating as Style performs a demonstration of higher value (DHV) routine. Notice a few of the subtleties that made this so effective.
1. His opener is a DHV, so right away he conveys that he is an interesting guy and boosts his attraction value immediately.
2. He isn't trying to impress her in any way, shape, or form. Actually, he isn't even doing the routine for her, it is rooted in the fact that he is helping us guys learn this cool new trick.
3. Style has the girl doing something for him right off the bat. The frame is perfectly in place. Many guys usually walk up to a group of girls and will do anything for them just to hangout for a bit like take photos for them, buy drinks, etc.
4. The thing she's doing is nothing major; it's all fun and interesting and adding value to her day. This instantly causes her to want to hang around, and remain a part of our group.
After completing his DHV and chatting for a bit, Style left the set for a while (takeaway). Doing a takeaway once or twice in a club is important because it conveys you aren't needy or desperate. It isn't the walking away that's the magical key; it's that they see you're willing to walk away.
A little while later, Style reopened the set. So I thought quickly, sat behind Style, and pretended I was on my cell phone while I listened to every word (yes, I know, I'm a total dork and that it's a bit extreme, but hey, they don't call me The Sneak for nothing).
The girl reopened immediately and was highly receptive. Clearly his first impression had left her wanting more. She began to introduce this cool, interesting guy (Style) she met earlier to all her girl-friends. One of her friends recognizes him and starts saying "Oh you're that guy who wrote that book about "The Game" or whatever..."
And that's when it hit me.
Every day I hear at least one guy complain that he's going to be called out for using a routine or proven opener that they've learned from a dating expert - and then he uses this as an excuse to not approach. The fact is that 99.9% of these guys are dealing with a fictional problem in their heads (even after the VH1 show, call outs are honestly very rare, and I am speaking from experience not theory).
If anyone should be worried about call outs it should be Style himself, but guess what, he's not.
Neil didn't slow down one bit. He didn't speed up. He didn't panic. He didn't freeze up. He didn't eject. He just kept going.
She kept throwing little tests at him, but he remained unaffected, and soon enough the tests ended and she started getting really close, caressing his chest, and hugging him.
Now, if Style had started getting nervous or acting weird when she first commented on the book, do you think she would have wanted to get close to him? Of course not.
So next time you worry about being called out, take a moment to realize that if it ever does happen, you have a choice. You can freak out and blow the set or you can keep your cool, stick to your guns, and she'll be molesting you in front of everyone at the club. The choice is clear.
A few minutes after that, Style had each of the girls on one arm and lead them to another more isolated area of the club. I made a mental note to research invisibility magic so next time I could keep eavesdropping, but now I was motivated to have my own adventure and open some sets of my own.
